How fast can I get my files back from you?

That depends on how much information you want to get. There are three methods for getting your information back from Guardiant: the website, a bootable restore disc, or a mailed set of discs containing your data.

Website: On the Guardiant website, you can login and see your 5 most recent backups in a Windows Explorer-like view. From there, you can drag and drop files you want to download into the Download Cart, then click "Download Now" to get them. For sets of files less than a few gigabytes, this process takes only a few minutes before you are emailed a download link. For file sets larger than 5GB, it will take at least 10 minutes to prepare your download. However, you will not find yourself waiting 16 hours for the download email, unlike some competing services.

Bootable CD: Since Guardiant provides bare-metal restore capabilities, you can download our Rescue CD here: (coming soon). This CD will allow you to download and restore all of your files to a blank hard drive. This method can take anywhere from a full day, to several days to complete, depending on the speed of your internet connection. For an example, if you have 30GB of used space on your hard drive, and have a typical 1.5Mbps internet connection, then it would take around 45 hours of downloading to get everything back. The faster your connection, the faster this process will complete.

Mailed Discs: This method is the fastest for large quantities of data. Simply fill out our disaster recovery request form (available when you login to the Guardiant website) and within two business days you will receive a set of discs containing all of your data. This includes a bootable CD to facilitate a full bare-metal restore using the data discs.
